Beautiful green W. Ridgway. Son, & Co. Hanley, Antique Pitcher, Jug Medieval Joust. The high-relief pitcher depicts a medieval knight in armor on horseback with lance charging another knight on the opposite side of the pitcher. Another armored figure stands behind each horse. The scalloped rim above the knights has a Gothic trefoil border; a foliated band below the knights encircles the widest part of the body, which has twelve facets, as does the foot. The handle has high-relief foliate decoration. Is it a knock-off? I can’t say, but it is a beautiful piece.
